Kathryn H. Starbuck (1887-1965) set forth historic opportunities, especially for women. In 1914, Starbuck became one of the first women to graduate from Albany Law School. She continued her work in law, was a suffragette, a law professor, the president of Saratoga Springs Board of Education, and a pionerring leader of Skidmore College.
In 2022, The William G. Pomeroy Foundation honored Saratoga Springs’ hometown hero with a historical placard outside Starbuck’s home on Fifth Avenue where she held many of her suffrage events.
At the Starbuck Luncheon, we honor individuals and organizations that illustrate the mission of inclusivity and are breaking down barriers in the name of equality. We reflect and amplify the legacy of Kathryn H. Starbuck.
